History of Kokomu
In 1969, Puli, Nantou flourished with forestry and logging industries. More than 450 wooden factories have been established. “Hai Shan handicraft workshop”, which founders were Shih three-brothers, was one of them. Most of the manufactured products in Hai Shan handicraft workshop were for export purpose. The main products were Christmas ornaments, e.g. Weihnachts pyramid, Germany “smoker”, Nutcracker, wooden music boxes and etc.
In August 2012, Shih Wen Chieh took over the Hai Shan handicraft workshop and transformed it became Kokomu workshop. He truly believed in the cultural and creative industry. He transformed the factory from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) & OBM (Original Brand Manufacturer). To inherit the dream of his father, and to enduring the memory of Puli citizen, he craved to produce the unique and local products.
In 2017, Malaysia ZINNOT Trading cooperated with Mr Shih and decided to import the Kokomu products into Malaysia. Thus, Malaysian is having privilege to have fun with these high quality and unique creations now.
